FG’s shortlisted 10 startups for 4IRTA Grant

Federal Government, through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, has unveiled 10 promising startups selected for the N10 million 4IRTA grant.

This initiative, aimed at propelling innovation in the realm of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies, attracted applications from across the country, showcasing the depth and diversity of Nigerian entrepreneurial spirit.

The chosen startups represent a spectrum of 4IR applications, with solutions spanning artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, blockchain, and advanced materials. From AgriTech startups developing AI-powered crop disease detection to MedTech companies pioneering remote patient monitoring via connected devices, the 4AIR grant recipients are poised to revolutionize their respective sectors.

“This is a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem,” declared the supervising Minister for the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, at the unveiling ceremony. “The 4IR grant is in support of government’s commitment to cultivate 500,000 hectares of land across Nigeria to boost food security.”

The 4IR grant selected startups projects are:

  • AgriBot Ltd: AI-powered robots for precision agriculture and optimized farming practices.
  • Doctodrone Inc.: Drone-based delivery of medical supplies to remote areas.
  • CyberWall Security: Blockchain-based cybersecurity solutions for businesses and government institutions.
  • GreenWatt Industries: Advanced materials for efficient solar energy generation and storage.

Other are Future Fish Farms, Smart Pond (SP), loT Climate-Smart Device, Alfor Livestock diseases and health reporting and AgriTrust Solutions by Ledger Labs Ltd.

With the 4IRTA grant, Nigeria is taking a bold step towards claiming its rightful place at the forefront of the global 4IR race. These 10 startups, fueled by ingenuity and supported by the government’s vision, are poised to not only disrupt their respective industries but also pave the way for a future where Nigerian innovation shapes the world.
