BREAKING: Former CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele Granted N50 Million Bail Amid Trial

The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, was granted a N50 million bail by the Ikeja High Court in Lagos on Friday, April 12, 2024.

Judge Rahmon Oshodi presided over the bail application, requiring two sureties to provide the same amount for bail conditions.

Emefiele faces 26 charges related to alleged office misuse and entered a not-guilty plea alongside his co-defendant, Henry Omole, earlier arraigned by the EFCC before Justice Oshodi.

The trial, originally set for April 11, was postponed due to a public holiday extension, bringing Emefiele to court on April 12.
